"Sounds like all manners of fun. Enough to keep us occupied whether it's food searching or magic stuff or sex." And way more of all of the above than she had when she was stranded on an island once upon a time in technically her last life. "Should we find a good spot to start setting up?"
"Not for a lengthy amount of time before, no. But it wasn't the jungle planet because fuck that one, and it wasn't the one that was mostly water. Options suck, blah blah lesser of evils."
Or something like that.
She exhales softly, mostly. And pauses for a beat or two. "I know it wasn't really kind to anyone and probably never will be, so I may just be saying a no shit thing here, but I'm sorry. About what life in the city dealt you." His particular set of circumstances seemed especially unfair -- the ageing and deaging curse he was dealing with here, and the shit sandwich that was awkward exes and dead friends, et cetera.
"Thank you. I appreciate it, but you made it better, you know? I know we never... said anything more than friendship and sex, but... you made it a lot better by being around. And I am very glad you were there and are here, frankly."
He nods, eyes downcast for a long moment, before he raises them, and smiles at her."I like the idea of trying to make a life here, with you." He is terrified, frankly, that this will not last and he will lose her too, but he will not live without hope, and he will not let fear rule him.
"I'm glad I could, because you did the same for me. And still do. I didn't expect you to follow me here, either, but I'm also glad you did that. There's a grand total of zero magistrates living on this planet, so I like our odds for inhabiting it."
"There's probably some to be found around here somewhere." She nods. "Maybe we can make like NASA and find new planets, even. I don't know." Maybe it's just her desire to be as far away from the City as possible talking and hoping there.
"Worth a shot. I can shape metals sooo... we just need a blueprint." Just. Yeah, those are lying around everywhere (ha right). "But I think the City is too busy with its mess and three levels of rebellion to notice or care what we do."
"And in the meantime, we will live, and have fun, and ignore that city so long as we can." He nods at her again, eyes dancing with amusement, and with contentment, of a kind, anyway.
"Perfect." And when they come to a good looking spot (or, at least as good as she thinks they'll find to set up camp), she stops and flops to the ground.
"Alright, I declare break time before unpacking time." She laughs slightly.

He nods.
"I want to see what we can do about finding a little joy."

"I wonder if the city would care if we just... drifted away..."

"Breaktime sounds good to me."
He grins as he lays back, shaking his head.
"We have our own schedule here, no time forced by others, so far. And that will be weird, but nice."
